PDF-FD Therapy

Plasma Derived Factor - Freeze Dry.
PDF-FD Therapy is a unique, customized treatment developed by freeze-drying platelet-derived growth factors taken from the patient's blood.
It is gaining attention as a treatment that uses the patient's blood to reduce joint pain and inflammation while boosting the body's natural repair abilities.
This treatment involves injecting a formulation containing platelet-derived growth factors while removing the platelets from the treatment site. It is a next-generation therapy that builds on conventional PRP therapy.

A New Option for Joint Treatment

It can treat musculoskeletal conditions affecting joints, muscles, tendons, ligaments, and bones. Its efficacy has been widely reported for conditions including osteoarthritis of the knee, various other arthroses, rotator cuff tears, ligament injuries, tendinitis (such as tennis elbow and plantar fasciitis), sports injuries, chronic damage, and arthritis. It offers a state-of-the-art treatment option for severe pain that doesn't respond to other methods.

The process from blood collection to treatment

After consulting with a physician to confirm treatment eligibility, the required amount of blood is drawn based on the treatment area. After blood collection, the blood is processed at a specialized facility for about 2-3 weeks, which allows you to schedule treatment at your preferred time. The therapy involves direct injection into the painful area and can be done on an outpatient basis. Processed PDF-FD can be frozen for up to 6 months, allowing us to schedule multiple treatment sessions based on your availability and symptoms.

Safety-Focused Treatment Approach

Because it is made from your blood, the risk of rejection, infection, or allergy is very low. Side effects may include pain, redness, swelling, warmth, or bruising at the injection site. These are usually temporary, and no serious side effects have been reported. Efficacy and side effects can vary between individuals. Make sure to fully understand this by consulting thoroughly with your physician. Treatment focuses on safety, and we will recommend the most suitable treatment based on your symptoms.

For long-lasting effects

Generally, the effects of PDF-FD therapy last about one to one and a half years. This places it between conservative treatments like hyaluronic acid injections, which offer relief for around one to two weeks, and surgical options such as joint replacement. Multiple treatments can be given as needed to sustain the effect. We aim to enhance and maintain symptom relief through ongoing care such as weight management, appropriate rehabilitation, and nutritional therapy.
